macOS · Menu bar · Homebrew install
Step-by-step installation via Terminal
Press ⌘ + Space to open Spotlight, type Terminal and press Enter.
Paste this command and press Enter. Homebrew will download and install the app — you may be prompted for your Mac password.
brew install --cask wifi-signal
When the command finishes, open wifi-signal from Applications or Spotlight (⌘ + Space). The menu bar shows live download, upload, and ping — click to expand details, signal strength in dBm, and connection history.
wifi-signal is a menu bar app that shows real download and upload speed, ping, and WiFi signal strength — so you know whether your connection is actually good, not just “full bars.”
All measurements run on your Mac. No network usage data is collected or sent anywhere.
Real-time down/up in the menu bar, updated continuously.
Latency to your router and to the internet — spot local vs ISP issues.
Real signal strength with plain-language labels, not just bars.
Logs connection drops and optional alerts when speed falls or link is lost.
